A very warm welcome to Rowena Rountree Illustration.

 

Have you ever heard of SYNESTHESIA? At the age of 15 I discovered that the automatic association I had of every word and number with a very specific colour was not something everyone had. I always loved varieties and combinations of all sots of colour - the more the better - and this probably explains the enjoyment I have in painting bright, magical colours.

I began painting in my early twenties as a way to soothe my mind from a time my mental health had deteriorated and I was experiencing severe depression. I find creating art a beautiful way to ride out the storm our mental health can create for us - and getting to mix beautiful colours and paint flowers and foxes and pretty dresses makes me more happy than I can explain!
